Agent (patent)
Definition: One who is not an attorney but is authorized to act for or in place of the applicant(s) before the Office, that is, an individual who is registered to practice before the Office.
BRM
Definition: Business reference model - an organized, hierarchical way to describe the day-to-day business operations of the Federal government.
Contracting State
Definition: A national Office or an intergovernmental organization which is party to the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
Administrative Instructions
Definition: Set out the provisions and requirements in relation to the filing and processing of the international (patent) application under the PCT.
Joint Inventor
Definition: An inventor who is named with at least one other inventor in a patent application, wherein each inventor contributes to the conception of the invention set forth in at least one claim in a patent application.
Descriptive Mark
Definition: A mark is considered merely descriptive if it describes an ingredient, quality, characteristic, function, feature, purpose or use of the specified goods or services.
